Reassurance in-force
Largely forgotten and poorly administered treaties, accumulated
from past companies, may not be efficient to run or meet current
risk and capital management requirements.
Redmayne Reassurance Services have joined with associate Athena
to provide a service to clear up those problems. Athena are experts
in change management of processes, systems and people. They would
address the administrative issues of running old treaties across
different platforms. This could mean developing common procedures
and automating manual workarounds.
In some cases a new reporting
system might be appropriate. A potential system has been developed
by IS associate KDI Solutions. KDI are experts at extracting and
validating data from a number of systems and consolidating them
through new reporting middleware. Subject to underlying data management
this can be used to report within the tightest timescales being
required by reassurers.
Rationalisation of old treaties through closure and recapture on
a fair basis will be handled by Redmayne Reassurance Services. Redmayne
will also audit reassurance against the insurer’s latest risk
and capital management guidelines and look at whether value can
be extracted from the old book through new reassurance deals.
